Questions from the misfit group:

What is number #1 guiding theme of the school?
How do theses fit into that role: 21st century skills/ MTSS/Career Pathways/ state assessment/ NCLB?

Staff development is an important part of helping a teacher be successful in the classroom. Given current economic situation, what are the most important areas on which to focus and what do you have to offer?

What is your Special Ed philosophy? Total inclusion or resource rooms

What are your professional goals & what prompted you to apply for this position?

What do you see the Counselor’s role in the school?

Have you taken KOBE and what is your score? Tell me about the last time you made a decision and how did you react to that? (What’s your KOBE?)

How would you describe your main relationship w/ teachers and how do the following issues support that?
	Teacher conflict
	Accountability
	PLC/ Leadership team
	Recogniton of success
	Maintenance of teacher morale
	Teacher evaluation

How are you involved with at risk students concerning academics and/or legal issues of those students?

How will you identify the educational needs and values of the community?

How do you focus on learning and not grade?

How do you measure the success of a school?

What do you see as the role of inclusion? How do you see yourself supporting inclusion?

What are your experiences working in or with special programs?

What would you do to maintain a high level of morale?

What role do you think technology should play in the classroom and in the school? How important is the integration of technology into the curriculum?

What is the single most important quality a principal should have?

What are the most important ways you will help teachers in this school to do their job?

A teacher does not measure up to expectations. How do you address the situation? What process would you follow?

How do you bring out the excellence in others?

Schools tend to take on personalities of their own that are generally influenced by the leadership style of the building principal. Based on this, what would Holton High School look like if you were named principal? (Vision)

I like the format of the last set of questions where it leaves space for the interviewers to write down notes.

Some questions I liked (in random order) are:

1. Describe what you consider to be a good teacher. How do you make sure teachers are living up to your expectations? or... When hiring a teacher, what traits or qualities would you look for?

2. What role do you feel technology should play in the high school?

3. Describe your leadership style.

4. Tell us a little about yourself and anything you feel is important for us to know about you as a candidate for this position.

5. If you were offered this position, list your top five priorities for starting a new year with a new staff.

6. What do you think is your most outstanding contribution to your present school district?

7. What discipline standards or procedures have you found to be effective when dealing with students?

8. Is there anything else we did not cover that you would like us to know about you as we consider you as a candidate for this position?
